Keeping Seniors Company
Connect with isolated or live-alone seniors virtually without barriers
Seniors are considered a high-risk population for the virus. Self-isolation limits many personal interactions and seniors may feel lonely. They may miss their children, grandchildren, friends and routine activities. Our Initiative has passionate youth volunteers available 7 days a week through phone to connect with seniors who want an active listener or just someone to keep them companied and chat about anything they want.
Grocery Delivery Support
Bringing necessities to your door
Our Grocery Delivery Support project is initiated to provide free grocery delivery service for community members who are currently staying at home or are unable to come out themselves. We are dedicated to serving those who are considered high-risk (including seniors), individuals with reduced mobility, illness, in self-isolation, or taking care of high-risk members, healthcare workers, as well as individuals who are isolating at home as they do not feel comfortable leaving their homes.
From our recipients
“I would like to thank the amazing volunteer who delivered our fresh grocery today, very professional and considerate student. I have been worried about leaving my house as my elderly mother lives with me. This essential program helps keep our family safe and healthy."
Roman M.
“Thanks for reaching out to my father. He loved telling you guys his stories.”
Barbara L.
“We heard lots of compliments from our senior residents about your volunteers. With less activities and visitations available for our residents, this connection was able to provide them with some structure and outside interactions every day."
Margaret K.
“First year in Canada. Being 13 hours away from my parents and sisters, only able to talk with them on the phone, it was a struggle. I also now have fewer hours at my job. I appreciate the volunteer who spent the time to talk to me, comfort me, making me feel that I have someone and not that alone. I am feeling better. I look forward to returning home soon.”
